Library News and Upcoming Events

4-H at the Library!

The Gray Public Library welcomes Sarah Sparks from University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Sarah will be leading 4-H science meetings on the 4th Wednesday of every month now thru May! The meetings will take place from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm and they are open to youth ages 5-18 (children under 9 will need to be accompanied by an adult). These events are free and all materials are included. You do not need to be a member of 4-H to attend but space is limited so please sign up for each session at the Circulation Desk. Check out the schedule below!

BLOWOUT BOOK SALE!

The Gray Public Library Association will have a BLOWOUT BOOK SALE on Saturday, June 1st from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Everything must go! Bring your own standard reusable grocery bag or a standard paper bag and fill it for only $1.00! Join us on Saturday, June 1st in the basement level of the library at 5 Hancock Street from 9:00 am-1:00 pm.


E-Reader Help Fridays

We are now offering e-Reader help on Friday afternoons to anyone who needs help downloading e-Books from our website to their e-Reader. No appointment or signup is necessary just stop by the library between 2:00 - 3:00 pm on Friday with your charged device. Please contact the library at 657-4110 or stop by the Circulation Desk for details.


Basic and Internet Computer Classes

We currently offer Basic Computer and Basic Internet classes at the library on a rotating schedule. Please check with us at the Circulation Desk to find out when the next session starts. Space will be limited to four students at a time, so you will need to sign up. We hope to eventually offer courses on basic email and social networking. Free access to ancestry.com

Did you know that you can access ancestry.com for free at the library? The genealogy site is now available through the MARVEL databases from any library computer or from your laptop when you are connected to the library's wifi network. Online Job Searching Tools

Information Commons can be accessed from either your home computer or any of the library's public access computers. This is a great online tool filled with the resources you need when searching for jobs and help with resume and cover letter writing, plus lots more.
